surgery

I will keep this short since I can only type with one hand.

Had surgery on my right wrist yesterday. It didn't start hurting until last night when the numbing agent wore off. I am on vicadin but it isn't helping much. I am in PAIN!!

Before my surgery I went to a metalsmithing store in Tucson and splurged. Bought a flex shaft, a real torch, a tripod for soldering on, and silver.

Unfortunately I won't be able to use any of my new toys until the bandage comes off.

I am however getting good at drawing with my left hand, so maybe I will take this time to sketch in my sketchbook.

Surgery Tomorrow, Jewelry Today

I spent the entire day in my studio. I am getting surgery on my wrist tomorrow and fear that if the doc messes up, I won't ever be able to make jewelry again.

I posted all the pieces I made in my etsy shop, but here is a preview.

And this pink druzy pendant looks so yummy and sparkly in the sun!

My pomegrante tree is starting to produce little flower buds, and that was the inspiration behind this jasper pendant.

Those birds are flying away with my druzy! Stop them! Haha.

My blue druzy ocean ring. I love this ring more then any other piece I have ever made. It reminds me of the ocean, which I miss so much!

Hummingbird Spring Ring. I sold the first one I made to a friend. I made another because I love it so much.

6 Cats = Hours of Entertainment

I was at ALCO to pick up some sharpies, and saw the Cat Emery Board there in the 'As Seen on TV' section. I saw their website months ago and wanted to order one, but never did. So I picked it up and figured what the heck, it will be better then having to cut the claws of 6 cats!

I got home, opened the packaging, poured on the cat nip and it took less then a minute for 5 of our 6 cats to come running! And they LOVED it!

Madame Houdini and Elphaba are the first to discover their new toy.

Then came Baby BambooBoo and the baby Helen.

They started to get stoned on cat nip!

Even Spoooky-Marshmellow-SnowDrop came to see what was going on. She never comes out of her hiding spot! This was big for her to come out in the daylight!

Gup Gup the Wonder Pug even came to see what all the fuss was about.

Now they are all stoned and lazy and drooling all over! Haha.

If you have cats get an Emery Cat Board! Get one now! It rocks!

Hummingbirds and Bees...spring is here!

Yesterday when I was watering my carnivorous plants, there was a black bumble bee buzzing around my head.

A few days ago a hummingbird flew right into my studio.

The hummingbirds have been visiting non stop now that the feeders are out and full of nectar!

These two events inspirited my latest pieces. A ring where the hummingbird is feeding from a flower, and a little bumble bee pendant.

Please have a peek.

New Yellow Turquoise Chunky Ring

Just finished working on another ring. Woot! I guess when the threat of never being able to use my hands again kicks in (ok I am being overly dramatic) I really get my creativity flowing!

Made of sterling silver, fine silver and a huge yellow turquoise cab!

I love it! Yellow turquoise is one of my favorite stones. I love how the bits of yellow peak out from behind the stone. It is so yummy!

My Fidget Rings on Etsy

I listed some new items on my etsy shop but unfortunately you can't see my new flower fidget rings spin and twirl in the photos. So I made a little video demonstrating how they spin. They are super fun.

breakfast and sketching

The other day I had to drop Gizmo off at the groomer. I decided to get some breakfast while I was out and about. I rarely eat by myself, I think it is one of the most depressing things to do. But I brought my sketchbook and had a good old time eating by myself and sketching and not having anyone bother me.
Yummmmmy french fries for breakfast!

Gnome's Garden

My gnomes took me hostage until I made them a pretty garden near the tree stump they claimed as their own. It took me all afternoon to make it meet their satisfaction!
The best part of garden is that it is on a little bit of a hill, so if you need to water the plants, the hose goes by the back door to their stump and the water flows downhill with little effort all the plants get watered! Wonder what will happen during the monsoons though!

female cardinals

I love female cardinals. I never realized how beautiful they were. I always thought the bright red males were pretty, but now I think that the females surpass them!
Saw one this morning at the bird feeder and took a quick video with my digital camera.
